Parent Information

Emergency information

It is vital that Jeavons Wood Primary School holds accurate, up‑to‑date contact information for all parents and carers in case of an emergency.

If you move house, change your home or mobile number, or update the adults you wish to list as contacts for your child, please inform us straight away by emailing office@jeavonswood.org or calling 01954 717180.

Emergency closure

Although rare, there may be occasions when Jeavons Wood Primary School has to close at short notice. This may happen for a variety of reasons, including severe weather (such as heavy snow) that makes the site unsafe or prevents enough staff from travelling to school to supervise pupils safely.

We understand that school closures can be disruptive for families, so any decision to close is made with great care and in consultation with relevant authorities, such as the County Council.

If the school needs to close, the decision is usually made early in the morning so that families can be informed before pupils leave home. We will communicate closures through:

  • A message on the front page of the school website
  • Announcements on local radio stations
  • Updates via Parent Hub and our social media channels

It is extremely unusual for the school to close during the school day due to the challenges of safely coordinating the collection of more than 400 children. If this ever became necessary, pupils would remain safely in school until parents and carers can be contacted and collection arrangements confirmed.
